go out and vote
I managed to squeeze in my vacation a quick visit to the voting center in Hong Kong last week. The directions were simple and even if I was on my own, totally clueless of where I'm going, Filipinos are pretty difficult to miss.
Supporters of different candidates are waiting by the bus stop and handing out fliers to voters. Most of them are members of Gabriela and Buhay Party List. While I was on the bus, I can hear people singing the famous jingle of Manny Villar (Nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura...) and yes, there are still undecided voters.
I managed to strike a conversation with a few of them and most of them asked me how the elections in the Philippines were. While away, they do stay in the loop through the web and they have read some black ops too. Among those that I've spoken too, three emerged as front-runners.
Anyway, why I am writing this? Simple.
To encourage those who don't have any plans of voting. You should go and vote. If overseas Pinoys can do it, why can't you?
